Our Favorite Feel-Good Smoothie Recipes

Simple, delicious, and packed with nutrition — these are the smoothies the Thick But Fit Crew actually makes and loves. No fancy equipment, no expensive powders, just real food blended together beautifully.

Smoothies might be one of the easiest ways to pack serious nutrition into a single glass. They're fast, customizable, portable, and honestly — when you get the combinations right — they taste like a treat, not a chore.

These six recipes are crew favorites. Some are pre-workout power-ups. Some are post-class recovery drinks. Some are just for a morning when you want something that tastes amazing and makes you feel good. All of them are simple enough to make on a busy day.

BASE TIPS BEFORE YOU BLEND: Frozen fruit makes smoothies thick and cold without needing ice. Always add liquid first to protect your blender blade. Start on low, then increase speed. A standard blender works fine — you don't need anything fancy.

1. The Crew Classic

Our everyday go-to. Creamy, satisfying, and ready in 3 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1 cup orange juice or pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

How to Make It

Add juice first, then yogurt, then frozen fruit. Blend on high for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth. Add more juice if too thick.

Nutrition (approx.)

~320 cal | 55g carbs | 12g protein | 3g fat | Serves 1

2. The Power-Up

Pre-workout fuel that tastes like a peanut butter milkshake.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • 1 cup milk of choice (oat, almond, dairy)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Handful of ice

How to Make It

Add milk first, then peanut butter and banana. Blend until smooth. Add ice if you want it thicker and colder. Drink 60–90 minutes before your workout.

Nutrition (approx.)

~380 cal | 42g carbs | 18g protein | 14g fat | Serves 1

3. The Recovery Rose

Post-workout magic — antioxidants, protein, and anti-inflammatory goodness.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen tart cherries (or mixed berries)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp honey

How to Make It

Add milk first, then yogurt, then frozen fruit and turmeric. Blend until smooth and gorgeous. The turmeric gives it extra anti-inflammatory power — you won't taste it much, we promise.

Nutrition (approx.)

~290 cal | 48g carbs | 14g protein | 4g fat | Serves 1

4. Green Queen

Don't let the color fool you — this one tastes like a tropical vacation.

Ingredients

  • 2 large handfuls of spinach or kale
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)
  • Squeeze of fresh lime

How to Make It

Add coconut water first, then greens (this helps them blend without chunks), then fruit. Blend on high for at least 60 seconds to make sure greens are fully incorporated.

Nutrition (approx.)

~240 cal | 55g carbs | 5g protein | 1g fat | Serves 1

5. Chocolate Dream

When you want something that feels indulgent but works as hard as you do.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 Medjool date (pitted) or 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Handful of ice

How to Make It

Add milk first, then almond butter, banana, date or syrup, and cocoa powder. Blend until silky smooth. Taste and add another date if you want it sweeter. This one also works great as a post-workout treat.

Nutrition (approx.)

~310 cal | 50g carbs | 9g protein | 10g fat | Serves 1

6. Sunrise Burst

Light, bright, and hydrating — perfect first thing in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen peaches
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)
  • 1 tsp honey

How to Make It

Add orange juice and water first, then ginger and fruit. Blend until smooth. This one is thinner and more juice-like — perfect if you want something refreshing rather than filling. Great before a morning walk.
